Documentary, Independent, LGBT, Short Films
Wayne is a proud black, Afro-Caribbean, gay man living in the UK. His father was also a proud man, moving to the UK in the 1950's was his duty to the 'father country'.
For Wayne being a UK citizen now doesn't make him proud and is a different story.
Director Statement
Having lived with an Afro-Caribbean foster son for over 8 years I was aware of the many prejudices against him. Being in care, with two white men in a very white village in Wiltshire were maybe difficult circumstances but were things that would change when he left home.
What wouldn't change was society's prejudice against the colour of his skin. My dear friend Wayne speaks to his lifelong experience of prejudice for BEING BLACK.
