TIME GLITCH, 6min., Austria, Sci-Fi
Directed by Stefan Kljajic
An agent is sent on a routine check when he is met with an unexpected anomaly of space & time.
Get to know the filmmaker:
1. What motivated you to make this film?
I was listening to the soundtracks of Tenet and Sicario around the time when the topic of the energy crisis in Europe started getting more prominent. These two things sparked my imagination towards some kind of sci-fi thriller based in an open field with wind turbines. We brainstormed potential ideas /plots and landed on what has now become Time Glitch.
2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?
The whole process took around 18 days, however, it happened over a span of 3 months due to availability limitations. All in all, we brainstormed and drafted the story within 5 days, did all the pre-production work in 7 days and then shot it within half a day. After that, I spent around 5 days doing post-production.
3. How would you describe your film in two words!?
Dystopian anticipation.
4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?
Getting all the crew together for pre-production and finding a shooting date which worked for everyone.
5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?
It felt really amazing to hear what people thought about the movie and how they interpreted story as well as the setting. It was also nice to see that their favorite part of the movie varied from viewer to viewer.
6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films?
When I was 8 years old - I basically created videos for as long as I can remember.
7. What film have you seen the most in your life?
It's got to be Pulp Fiction or Interstellar, I've lost count on those two.
8. What other elements of the festival experience can we and other festivals implement to satisfy you and help you further your filmmaking career?
I think the multiple rounds of viewing and the feedback video are truly something unique and a really great form of constructive feedback as well as exposure. As I have participated in a few festivals virtually, I would really appreciate getting to network with industry professionals in some way - whether it be some live chats or contact exchange.
9. You submitted to the festival via FilmFreeway. How has your experiences been working on the festival platform site?
Really great!
10. What is your favorite meal?
Tacos!
11. What is next for you? A new film?
I'm working on a feature screenplay which I plan to get produced soon. I also have some ideas for a longer short film in the meantime.
