A weary actor falls for her doppelgänger at an audition.
Director Statement
The impetus for this film was the time I got ghosted by my own doppelgänger. Two small brunettes routinely mistaken for sisters at a party, two moms named Laura. Two writers of songs and scripts, lovers of lending books. She was me, but more interesting by nature of the fact that she wasn't me. And so when she disappeared, I was left feeling as though I had nobody to blame but myself.
Several years and a pandemic later, I made this film to remind myself that there is no blame. There is only the recognition that your best self is not outside of you, wandering the streets of Brooklyn and ignoring your texts, but inside of you, already poised to accept the risk of true self expression.
