With the stylistic devices of contemporary dance and a deconstructed flamenco, the aggregate states of water and their effects on people and the environment are explored. A flamenco typical train dress is changed and recreated. The rhythm of flamenco is taken out of context and used for new scenarios. Immersed in blue underwater light, classic flamenco meets contemporary dance and experimental electronic music.

Get to know the filmmaker:

1. What motivated you to make this film?

Water as an element has always inspired and influenced me. In addition, in 2021 there was the flood disaster in which I was heavily involved and in which another, destructive side of water was made clear to me very closely.
After the flood disaster, the idea came to work with the train dress typical of flamenco, a deconstructed Flamenco and the theme of water. It seemed interesting to me to look at the train as an abstract structure and to try out new materials that will have an impact on the shape and mobility of the dress. At the same time, it was exciting to use and alienate the rhythm of flamenco.
The idea of ​​​​realizing this in a film came as part of the pandemic and the limited performance options. Unfortunately, the realization of the film had to wait a while due my cruciate ligament injury last year.

2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?

I can not say exactly. The idea grew slowly. Constructed flamenco in connection with water has been around for a long time. But I think the idea has become more concrete since 2021.

Mysticism, Water

4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?

My injury!

5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?

I was so happy about the many beautiful words and curious about the different interpretations. I think it makes me a little proud.

6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films?

After the flood in 2021.

7. What film have you seen the most in your life?

„Sissi", „Dinner for one", „Lord of the rings" and „Lovestory" as a child. As an adult I prefer experimental and independent films. But there is no film that I have seen the most.

8. What other elements of the festival experience can we and other festivals implement to satisfy you and help you further your filmmaking career?

I have no idea. For me it was perfect.

9. You submitted to the festival via FilmFreeway. How has your experiences been working on the festival platform site?

A bit confusing if you don't know exactly what you want and which festivals are suitable for you. But regardless, very easy to handle.

10. What is your favorite meal?

I have a lot of foods that I like. Chop Suey like my family prepares it, cheese Spätzle, Italian pasta dishes, Asian cuisine,... I love good and tasty food.

11. What is next for you? A new film?

I'm working on a performance of the film. The short version has already been performed twice and will premiere in the long version at the beginning of November. After this project I'm planing a project with musicians. I would love to do a new film about this project.
