Director Statement
As a research student pursuing a PhD, I am exploring transmedia and edutainment for children, youth and families, focusing on mental health, literacy and the economics of the creative and working classes.
I was diagnosed with autism in 2019 after a brief stint of mild psychosis, a lifetime of dissociating, masking and depression and other common elements for those on the autism spectrum. This film represents my state as I came out of that life transition and back into allowing myself to create visual content in a more personal and reflective way.
I attempt to create through my experience. I use minimal scripting to allow my own experience to overlap onto the narrative. As a therapeutical tool, I hope to maintain a level of entertainment and interest, while spurring investigative thought for my audience.
