Sarah is a teenage girl who lives in a village in male chauvinistic Iran. She wishes to leave the village with her lover; Maryam (another teenage girl), and live in a free land. A middle aged man is Sarah’s suitor which She finds repulsive. Sarah’s father dies suddenly and Sarah fearful of marriage, flees to Maryam’s place so they can escape together. But Maryam’s little brother who has seen the girls making out, calls his father. In a fight which happens in a stable, Maryam’s father kills Maryam to restore his honor and Sarah kills Maryam’s father for revenge. Sarah tries to escape but people of the village take her and their wise man sentences her to death because of murder and homosexuality. According to their religion they can’t kill a virgin so the suitor forces Sarah to have intercourse with him before execution. In the end they hang Sarah from the neck.
