Get to know the filmmaker:
1. What motivated you to make this film?
I wanted to make a different kind of film. Something that would turn a very serious subject (in this case, a serial killer) and turn it on its head. Have fun with it, and make it a dark comedy.
2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?
It took a few years. The idea and concept originated before Covid. But then everything shut down and I had to wait. Once productions started up full speed again, we got a nice team together to bring it to life. All in all, I believe it took over 3 years to complete.
3. How would you describe your film in two words!?
Super. Sane. I can explain, if needed.
4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?
There were 2 major obstacles: Covid & acquiring funding, of course. Thankfully, we were able to overcome both obstacles.
5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?
The audience reactions were AMAZING. Such a diverse group from all over the world! When Jemma Evans, the lead actor, saw the feedback, she said she cried tears of happiness. Whenever we make a project, you never know how it will be received. Seeing the positive feedback from your group was tremendous. Thank you so much for it!
6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films?
I was 3 when I saw the original Star Wars at the movies. I was 4 when I saw Richard Donner's Superman with Christopher Reeve at the movies. Ever since then I've been hooked and knew this is what I would love to do.
7. What film have you seen the most in your life?
Way too many films to list here. Everything from Star Wars, Superman, The Godfather. All have had an impact on me in some way.
8. What other elements of the festival experience can we and other festivals implement to satisfy you and help you further your filmmaking career?
The video feedback has been the best. Such a rarity and something that should be done on a much wider scale with other festivals. You guys are doing a terrific job in showcasing and putting films out for a much wider audience to see. That's such a gift to 99% of filmmakers because most projects never get to see the light of day.
9. You submitted to the festival via FilmFreeway. How has your experiences been working on the festival platform site?
Film Freeway is a great site. Very easy to navigate and use, and a wonderful tool for filmmakers.
10. What is your favorite meal?
I'm a foodie so this is tough to narrow down. But I am one of those people who does enjoy breakfast for dinner!
11. What is next for you? A new film?
Currently in pre-production on another short film. This one is more ambitious and will include action sequences and an exotic location. After that, we are hoping to make a feature film with heavy emotion. All in all, I'm happy to be able to live a dream. Filmmaking is the only job I've ever had in my life where I literally jump out of bed to go to work.
