Get to know the filmmakers:

1. What motivated you to make this film?

Our roots are deeply intertwined with music and contemporary art. Creative freedom has always been our guiding force and as videomakers, we are interested in embracing it fully. This led us to dive into the world of fashion videos, a space where we believe creative freedom knows no boundaries and it's exactly where we want to be.

We drew inspiration from Edward Hopper, captivated by his portrayal of solitary, introspective subjects and the enigmatic urban settings he painted.

2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?

Every project has steps- beginning with the pre-production phase where we find creative ideas and organize the project, then coordinating shooting days and collaborating with the rest of the team. Last but certainly not least is the crucial post-production phase, where the video takes its form.

For this particular project, our vision was clear right from the start. The entire production spanned approximately 4 months.

3. How would you describe your film in two words!?

A painting.

4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?

The biggest challenge was obtaining permission to film in public and private spaces. For example, we wanted to shoot some scenes at the Opera House, but unfortunately, we were not granted permission. It's a shame because certain cultural institutions should support emerging artists as well, instead of hindering them. However, in the end, we managed to find excellent alternatives and we are delighted.

5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?

It has been incredibly thrilling to receive such thoughtful comments and compliments from others. Knowing that our work has been appreciated is truly rewarding and serves as a powerful motivation to keep moving forward.

6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films?

We were already planning to make a fashion video inspired by the paintings of Edward Hopper. When we happened to walk into the bar room with William Morris wallpaper, we knew immediately that the project could take shape.

8. What other elements of the festival experience can we and other festivals implement to satisfy you and help you further your filmmaking career?

It would be highly interesting if festivals, particularly in the realm of fashion, could foster connections between winners and fashion brands, thereby opening up new possibilities for collaboration.

9. You submitted to the festival via FilmFreeway. How have your experiences been working on the festival platform site?

It is an excellent platform, and we have always had positive experiences!
