Get to know the filmmaker:
1. What motivated you to make this film?
In 2021 I became a mother and with that life change I began to fear I would be seen in a different life and with more restrictions for my creative opportunities than I had experienced in the past. Mothers are often seen as only that. They don't have the depth, the inner life, or the interest that other characters are afforded. I created this film to highlight that dynamic and also to question the idea that life for women at a certain age can no longer be exciting. And that in itself was my motivation.
2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?
3 months
3. How would you describe your film in two words!?
Paranormal paramour
4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film? Timing, timing, timing. That's always the biggest obstacle.
5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?
Positive.
6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films? I started making films when I was 8 with my sister. We tied strings on our Barbie's, put fantasia on in the back ground and swung them into each other like fairies. Making films is a dream come true for me.
7. What film have you seen the most in your life?
Greedy.
8. What other elements of the festival experience can we and other festivals implement to satisfy you and help you further your filmmaking career?
IMDb credits
9. You submitted to the festival via FilmFreeway. How has your experiences been working on the festival platform site?
Easy and great!
10. What is your favorite meal?
Linguine with fresh tomato sauce
11. What is next for you? A new film?
Working on a new short and also a feature version of Daddy issues
