Amidst unrest in 1970s Belfast, troubled teenager Michael meets Dutch tourist Anna, and a whirlwind romance begins. As Michael’s recovery from the trauma of his childhood progresses, events take a disastrous turn – and it will be three decades before Anna recognises the significance their union had on the scarred country.
