During pandemic COVID-19 era, Amei, a Chinese-Indonesian Women who lives in Jember, East Java baking a cake. She received a video call from her mom who request to continue their Chinese language heritage. At first Amei rejects. However, surely but sure Amei could speak Chinese a little which makes her mom happy.

Director Statement
Leluhur tells a reality in Indonesia that after babyboomer generation, many Chinese-Indonesian aren't speaking Chinese anymore especially those who live in Java. This short film packed in simple family drama between a gen x daughter, Amei and her mom that still hoping on Amei to continue their Mainland Chinese heritage.
