Get to know the filmmaker:
1. What motivated you to make this film?
- As a company, we had never done a period piece and we always like to do things that we've never done before, stretch ourselves a bit. Film noir is my favorite genre so it made sense to attempt something that would mimic that.
2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?
- About 6 months.
3. How would you describe your film in two words!?
- Paranormal Noir!
4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?
- Finding the space for the office shoots. First, there are not a lot of local businesses that have been around since the 40's that have not been remodeled or otherwise updated so finding anything that resembled the 40's was out...we had to resort to a less desirable alternative and building sets were not an alternative either. Costumes were a bit of a challenge as well but not like finding the space.
5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?
- Pleased that the audience got what we were going for and vocalized the same.
6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films?
- I've been involved in theatre and productions since high school but after moving back to the PNW a few years ago and getting reconnected with my mates, it all made sense.
7. What film have you seen the most in your life?
- Maltese Falcon & Young Frankenstein
8. What other elements of the festival experience can we and other festivals implement to satisfy you and help you further your filmmaking career?
- We loved hearing the audiences praise but was hoping for a little critical feedback as well about what we could have done better.
9. You submitted to the festival via FilmFreeway. How has your experiences been working on the festival platform site?
- Absolutely fine. It saves a whole lot of time to be able to easily and quickly submit to festivals.
10. What is your favorite meal?
- Most anything VEGAN!
11. What is next for you? A new film?
- Currently working on new sci-fi short film.
