PLEASE BE HOME....,20min., USA
Directed by Bryan Muniz
A woman attempts to save a life and fix her brother's marriage as the world is coming to an end.
Get to know the filmmaker:
1. What motivated you to make this film?
After seeing the film 1917 in theaters 3 times. A film that utilizes the one-continuous-take approach while also moving the crowd to tears by the end of it, inspired me to make my one-continuous-take film.
2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?
The idea first came in 2019 but I didn't start putting pen to paper until early 2022. Production finished in late 2022, with post-production taking 8 months of 2023 to complete.
3. How would you describe your film in two words!?
Buckle In.
4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?
Finding the right location to shoot a one-continuous-take in that worked with the script was the toughest part. There was a 2 month delay because we kept losing and changing our shooting location.
5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?
Ecstatic!!!!!!
6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films?
When I was in college, I had tried acting class and soon after realized my passion was truly to be behind the camera.
7. What film have you seen the most in your life?
Either The Godfather, The Silence of the Lambs or, La La Land.
8. What other elements of the festival experience can we and other festivals implement to satisfy you and help you further your filmmaking career?
I literally have no comments. I've been happy with the whole experience.
9. You submitted to the festival via FilmFreeway. How has your experiences been working on the festival platform site?
As a first time filmmaker it was an easy and informative experience using the site for my festival run.
10. What is your favorite meal?
Chicken Parmesan.
11. What is next for you? A new film?
A new film is what's next for me. I'm currently writing my next project which I'm already about to pump out a 1st draft of this month. It deals with the importance of balancing emotions and depression in a young aspiring screenwriter.
