Get to know the filmmaker:

1. What motivated you to make this film?
The Pandemic and being in lockdown! I very much felt the same way my character Astria Zonberg did, in the sense that I had already turned my backyard into a beach complete with a lounge set for tanning, bbq area for cooking, volleyball court, ping pong table, racquetball set, tennis court, & projector screen for outdoor movies, then on the inside of my house I bought a rower machine, elliptical, bike, treadmill, thigh master, free weights, dumbbells, work out bands, a bosu ball, weighted throw balls, a thera gun, vibration plate machine, every board game target had on sale that month etc. I was going bored out of my mind and even started picking up crafts like sewing, knitting, macrame, pottery, candle making, doing puzzles, the list just goes on. It was absolutely hilarious. My old roommate Dakota would laugh at me and join in sometimes when she had a night off from working but to give you an idea, I never finished any of the projects I'd start because I would get so bored of them half way through too! Same with ordering food from the restaurants closest to me, I'd be craving pasta but then once it was delivered took one bite and was like AGH! Nothing satisfies me anymore. Hence the reason it shows Astria eating the buffet, playing golf, playing with cats, (I worked for a couple animal shelters in real life during that time called Hoja Nueva as well as Peru Dog Rescue, but we thought the purring of the kitties would be the quickest, easiest, and most funny to imitate) we really played on that where she is missing planet life even though she has it all on the ship, because I was missing social life even though I had everything I could possibly want to keep me entertained and busy while trapped at home. I have always been a very independent person, and enjoy my own company being the introvert I am, however, during the first yr of Covid I quickly realized activities aren't nearly as much fun to experiment with or experience by myself. I wanted the audience to see & feel that in a funny way, rather than a sad and depressing one.

2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?
Exactly 48 hrs! We started on the Friday evening when we got the requirements needed to compete in the competition, then turned it in just before deadline Sunday

3. How would you describe your film in two words!?
Zany, Fun

4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?
Wanting more time to fine tune with edits, I think with even just another 24 hrs we could have made it around 7 mins easy, instead of a micro short

5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?
That I loved all the smiles they had on their faces! They seemed very amused and like they enjoyed it even though it has a quirky random sense of humor that doesn't ever fully make sense, to it. Hahaha.

6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films?
My senior year of High School. I booked my first audition ever which was for the horror movie, "The Ring" and when we got the call my dad ended up telling the Casting Department no, (I had to have a parent signature due to nudity because it was for the flashing scene where worms slithering over each other in slime turn into humans covered in goop and I was 17 at the time, but 18 in a few short months) I remember being LIVID. He told me, "trust me kid, that would not have been your big break" and I was like fine! I'll just go make my own then! I don't need your legal permission to do that! LMAO

7. What film have you seen the most in your life?
The Princess Bride, it is my favorite of all time and has been my whole life. It has comedy, romance, action, scariness (for me as a kid) even a little thriller in there, I mean what more could you want?

8. What other elements of the festival experience can we and other festivals implement to satisfy you and help you further your filmmaking career?
Yall are doing an AMAZING job, you have the videos for us, a streaming network and platform for both broadcasting and community, the podcast for interviews, only other things I could say is do a shoutout in your stories and profile grid on instagram, or also create an online filmmaker magazine on top of the channel/station? But that's a lot, you're already doing so much for us filmmakers!

9. You submitted to the festival via FilmFreeway. How has your experiences been working on the festival platform site?
Wonderful! It's been very straight forward and easy to manage

10. What is your favorite meal?
Chicken Stir fry

11. What is next for you? A new film?
Yes! I am so excited to announce I wrote my next short comedy, "It Girl" last month, (which is basically me making fun of my own life & career in Hollywood) and it just got funded for $10k. We will be shooting & editing March in PA, and I can't wait to put it in the festival circuit next year come April!
