Director Statement
The moment I landed in New York to set out on my journey to become an artist and also to earn my stripes to become a New Yorker I was collecting gold for METROS and didn't even know it. METROS has been like a small snowball rolling down a mountain gaining size and speed along the tumble and now has ammassed as these many memories and experiences gained while living in this crazy city.
TV series like High Maintenance and Broad City gave me a spark of resonance and laughter, like an inside joke that I knew exactly the specific circumstances the characters would find themselves in. And I thought, what the hell, I go through crazy wacky shit everyday in New York and tell friends back home about it and the stories always leave my friends in awe. So low and behold that snowball was too damn big and full of experiences not to tell. I want people to really grasp what its like living in New York while also being this transplant outsider that is being molded by the people and sheer wackiness of the concrete jungle!
