Get to know the filmmaker:
1. What motivated you to make this film?
I was motivated to make the "Lights Out Texas" film to raise awareness about the importance of reducing light pollution and its impact on wildlife, particularly birds during their migration.
2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?
The journey from the initial idea to the finished film took about two years. It involved extensive research, planning, shooting, and post-production to convey the message effectively.
3. How would you describe your film in two words!?
I would describe the film in two words as "Nature's Resilience."

My initial reactions to the audience feedback video were a mix of excitement and gratitude. It's rewarding to see people engaging with the film and understanding the significance of the cause.
6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films?
I realized my passion for filmmaking during my early twenties when I found a profound connection between storytelling and the visual medium.
7. What film have you seen the most in your life?
The film I've seen the most in my life is probably "Blade Runner." Its cinematography and storytelling have had a lasting impact on my own approach to filmmaking.
8. What other elements of the festival experience can we and other festivals implement to satisfy you and help you further your filmmaking career?
To enhance the festival experience, incorporating more networking opportunities, mentorship programs, and workshops on the latest filmmaking technologies would be valuable for filmmakers like myself.

Submitting to the festival via FilmFreeway has been a positive experience. The platform provides a convenient and efficient way to submit films, track submissions, and connect with festival organizers.
10. What is your favorite meal?
My favorite meal is Dim Sum.
11. What is next for you? A new film?
Looking ahead, my focus is on developing a new film that continues to shed light on bird collisions. I aim to use storytelling as a powerful tool for raising awareness and inspiring positive change.
