Get to know the filmmaker:
1. What motivated you to make this film?
I wrote the first half of the film as an exercise for a comedy writing workshop I was doing. I wrote it with my "unconscious mind" in no time at all and when I read it I thought it was weird, funny and would be pretty straight forward to shoot. But nothing is, right? As I started to develop it I used some of the budget/shooting limitations to my advantage to evolve the story until it became "It's Only Me"
2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?
Around two months.
3. How would you describe your film in two words!?
Surprising and absurd.
4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?
Sound was a challenge because the Sound Recordist didn't show up on the shooting day so we had to work around it with the gear we had available. It also became a challenge in post as what we managed to record on the day wasn't great quality.
5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?
Gratifying as I felt they've got the essence of the film and where able to enjoy the little journey that film takes them.
6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films?
Growing up I wanted to be an actress and I did a lot of drama in my native Argentina, but I was crap at it (be my guest in changing that word for a more discreet one - But the truth is, I was utterly CRAP at it) I always enjoyed telling stories and when I moved to England, I decided to make it "official" by making my first short "A Wake" after a competition run by the BBC for female filmmakers.
7. What film have you seen the most in your life?
Stardust Memories
The Graduate
Edward Scissorhands
8. What other elements of the festival experience can we and other festivals implement to satisfy you and help you further your filmmaking career?
I think everything that this festival offers is brilliant. All the other festivals should follow you!
9. You submitted to the festival via FilmFreeway. How has your experiences been working on the festival platform site?
Great. I think FilmFreeway it's simple to use and very effective.
10. What is your favorite meal?
Argentinian barbecue.
11. What is next for you? A new film?
I'm in post production of a short I wrote and directed called "Bidet" and I'm co-writing my first feature film.
