Director Statement
As an immigrant black woman, I continually question my place in society and reshape my identity. Coming from a country whose cultural roots are permeated and distorted by colonial mentality, finding my own identity as an artist and researcher in a decolonial context has been a challenge to be continually faced. The roots are very deep and are part of my own formation as an individual.
