EQUILIBRIO, 3min., Columbia
Directed by Camilo Velásquez A.
Dance and fluidity. Strength and movement.
Energy that arises from the very center and always carries itself in circular motion.

Get to know the filmmaker:
1. What motivated you to make this film?
When Punto Blanco (the brand) added Álamo, our production company, to the project in the first brainstorming meetings, we wanted to show the immensity, that nature had so much power that it visually influenced our being. We find the stillness, the fertile darkness that gives rise to life. In its mystery, we find introspection, receptivity and hidden wisdom. It is the seed deep in the earth, the calm before the storm. Counterbalanced by the vitality of nature, the burning fire that drives the action. It is the radiant sun that illuminates the world, the energy that drives us to seek new experiences and conquer horizons. In its dynamism, we find the power of transformation and passion.
When Nuquí was finally proposed, we knew that this was the place that would transmit the idea.
A place full of virgin jungle in the Colombian Pacific, where few people live, its black beach attracted us and at low tides we would have water mirrors to reflect the infinity of the sky.
and it is also a place where humpback whales reproduce, so nature made us make the decision.
2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?
The idea started in February, it took us a long time to find the exact location that will demonstrate that natural power that we wanted to demonstrate. Once we found it, we filmed at the end of July and finished post-production in September.
3. How would you describe your film in two words!?
YIN-YANG
4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?
The tide of the sea, in the Colombian Pacific, in the village of Nuquí the tide rises and falls every eight hours, we wanted to film at low tide, to have the water mirrors, for this reason we could only record 2 hours in the morning and two in the morning. the afternoon. In addition, we must add that it is one of the areas that rains the most in the world. All this forced us to not make mistakes, which is why the preparation was intense and very structured, both as the choreography was marked at each moment, as well as the technical aspects.
Endless thanks to the team that made this possible, from the internal creative and graphic team to the dancers, makeup artists, producer, technical team, musicians, VFX, and above all, to Punto Blanco, for believing in this art and being the only brand that dares to dream big.
5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?
It was overwhelming, they highlighted many points of which we had ideas in pre-production as the reason for the film. Seeing that this will be noticed and talked about filled our hearts, all the aspects that we wanted to highlight about sustenance such as life, the feminine and masculine, the passive and the active reaching the human being and for the public of another country to understand it makes our history becomes universal and that is completely gratifying
6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films?
This was a challenge, we wanted to pay tribute to our nature through art. From dance, ballet and contemporary dance to building a composition with a string quartet, at this time, it seemed like a challenge to us, both commercially and risky.
Today, it is incredibly gratifying to see how this project, created with so much love and passion, has reached so many people and managed to convey the emotions we intended through Punto Blanco.
We are immensely grateful to EXPERIMENTAL FILM & MUSIC VIDEO FESTIVAL for providing spaces where fashion can be merged with art and for allowing these expressions that push us to expand from the commercial to the artistic.
7. What film have you seen the most in your life?
Kieślowski's colors trilogy and Terrence Mallick A hidden Life (this one helps my soul)
8. What other elements of the festival experience can we and other festivals implement to satisfy you and help you further your filmmaking career?
with EXPERIMENTAL FILM & MUSIC VIDEO FESTIVAL
It is completely satisfying to have feedback and know that your film is valued by people
9. You submitted to the festival via FilmFreeway. How has your experiences been working on the festival platform site?
FilmFreeWay is amazing, everything it's easy and helpful
10. What is your favorite meal?
For Me: Pomodoro pasta and Colombian stew called "sudado"
11. What is next for you? A new film?
Right now in Álamo, we are working in a mini series called "DOGS LUCK", it's a dark comedy project.
