In order to prove that the world he lives in is virtual, an unemployed programmer begins to challenge the limits of human sleeplessness to force the world to collapse, only to find that the truth can never be proven.

Get to know the filmmaker:

1. What motivated you to make this film?
A: The nature of the world has always fascinated me, and I've longed to create a science fiction film. While playing a game, the idea "Is this world just a massive game?" suddenly struck me, inspiring me to write this script.

2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?
A: The project was actually a school assignment. It took me around two month from script-writing to finishing the post production.

3. How would you describe your film in two words?
A:"Cosmic Enigma" or "Cognitive Odyssey"

4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?
A:That would be the budget issue. As a student, my film budget is approximately $500, so I had to come up with various solutions. For example, I used my own living room as the shooting space and incorporated most of my personal belongings as props in the film.

5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?
A: I was deeply moved by the overwhelming feedback to my film, with so many people watching and leaving sincere comments. Each comment validates the effort I put into it.

6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films?
A:I can't remember that clearly. I have loved watching movies since childhood, but the first time I considered creating short films was when I directed my college class and won a prize in a stage play performance. The applause from the audience made me believe in my directing talent. Then, I started experimenting with writing plays and films.

7. What film have you seen the most in your life?
A: I think that would be the french film Amelie

8. What other elements of the festival experience can we and other festivals implement to satisfy you and help you further your filmmaking career?
A:I think what you have done is already very good. If it is possible later, maybe you can arrange some offline communication activities. I will be very interested in face-to-face communication with other film creators

10. What is your favorite meal?
A: I am Chinese, so my favorite food is still Chinese cuisine. If I had to choose one, it would be the fried pork from my hometown.

11. What is next for you? A new film?
A: Currently, I'm preparing my thesis film based on a real case, set in both China and the United States. Stay tuned!
