ABORTION: ADD TO CART, 35min., USA, Documentary
Directed by Jessica Sarah Flaum
In the digital age, self-managed abortions come in a new form: pills ordered online. With increasing burdens placed on clinics, activists are combining the powers of abortion pills and the internet to provide abortions in a revolutionary way and highlight how new technology could transform accessibility in the United States.

Director Statement
As a near-total abortion ban in Texas goes into effect and other states prepare to do the same, activists are bracing for the realities of a post-Roe world. However, in the 21st century, a clinic is no longer the only place for a safe abortion. The ease of the internet and the safety of the abortion pill mean that abortion could be more accessible than ever.
Along with supporting clinics, pro-choice activists need to focus on expanding and protecting self-management and telehealth for abortion, something that has been taking place under the radar for years. The COVID-19 pandemic has given us a glimpse at what clinic inaccessibility looks like and how abortion pills and the internet can change that.
