Get to know the writer:
1. What is your screenplay about?
The best way I can summarize my screenplay is: "The Seven Deadly Sins invade Heaven. One goes rogue and fights against the other six."
2. What genres does your screenplay fall under?
While I don't really like to think in terms of genre when I write, I'd say that the best genre to classify this as would be action. I think it could also fall under fantasy as well.
3. Why should this screenplay be made into a movie?
I think this should be made into a movie because that it'd be a fun story to make into reality. Also, I'm not sure that there's a lot of action films out there with both angels AND demons, so it'd be kind of different.
4. How would you describe this script in two words?
Interesting. Adventure.
5. What movie have you seen the most times in your life?
I don't think I've ever really taken count, but I think the one that sticks out the most is Rocky. I can watch that film (and the sequels) so many times and never get bored.
6. How long have you been working on this screenplay?
I completed the first draft in 2016, so I guess you could say that this interview and your reading is the culmination of seven long years of writing.
7. How many stories have you written?
I've completed two: Wrath, and another screenplay centered on one of the supporting characters in Wrath. As for written altogether, I have a story I'm writing now, along with a bunch of other stories I've written before I started to take writing somewhat seriously.
8. What is your favorite song? (Or, what song have you listened to the most times in your life?)
I have a lot of songs I like, but I don't think I've really thought of them in terms of "favorite", but I'd say that the first song I really took a deeper appreciation to in terms of thinking about the lyrics and the meaning is "One" by U2.
9. What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?
Mostly, just trying to get the inspiration to actually write the actual screenplay. I think I'm pretty good at planning and outlining, but when it gets to getting the actual words down, sometimes I don't end up writing as much as I want to when I dedicate time to writing.
10. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?
I'd say I'm pretty passionate about sports, ESPECIALLY college football, the greatest sport in the world. I also enjoy cooking and finding a good place to eat.
11. You entered your screenplay via FilmFreeway. What has been your experiences working with the submission platform site?
I'd say that FilmFreeway has been one of the best things I've come across in terms of my writing and helping me understand the path in film I ended up taking. It really helped me find ways to get my work out there and it really helps me think about what I can really accomplish with my writing.
12. What influenced you to enter the festival? What were your feelings on the initial feedback you received?
I'd say the biggest influence was the chance to get feedback on my screenplay. My feelings on the initial feedback was that 1. I was happy to think that someone outside my family and friends though there were positives in my work and 2. I really found a guiding light to help me in later drafts and in editing.
