Four nuns in a crime-ridden neighborhood ask a shady parishioner for a few discreet guns to help them protect their frequently robbed church, only to accidentally receive high-powered weapons and a gold megaphone meant for a local crime boss. Using them to thwart two robbery attempts in their church, the sisters then branch out and become secretive crime-busting neighborhood heroes, despite being terrible shots and never actually shooting anyone. After inadvertently destroying a convenience store to catch a nighttime robber, rumors swirl as to the identity of the mysterious vigilantes. The crime rate plummets as criminals abandon the neighborhood, and the elderly parishioners who were too afraid to attend church return in droves. A detective on the case who refuses to believe that the nuns could be real finally realizes they are when one of the nuns loses her mask while thwarting a bank robbery and the action is recorded and broadcast on the news. The crime boss sees the sisters on the news as well, realizes the megaphone and weapons are his, and confronts the nuns at their convent in a final slapstick showdown that the nuns win against the odds. Despite the destruction they caused, the sisters are awarded the gold megaphone for their crime fighting efforts and use the proceeds from its sale to restore their run-down church and convent to their former glory.
